How do you escape the stress of today’s news and the artificial lights of your computer screen and smart phone?

Our customers say that gardening is part of their “me time”, and that it helps them feel hopeful and positive, the same can be said about caring for houseplants.

Sansevieria AKA Mother-in-law’s tongue, or snake plant, are considered by many as an easy, beginner plant that only requires wearing when soil is completely dry. Sansevieria varieties love bright light, but can tolerate low light as well. Sansevieria plants are known to be one of the best for air purification.

According to the American Psychological Association, spending time with nature has been linked to many benefits, including lower stress, better mood, and even upticks in empathy.

Many Aglaonema AKA Chinese evergreen varieties enjoy lower light conditions. For the more colorful leaves such as pink varieties, they will enjoy a touch more light. In Feng Shui, these plants are said to bring luck, prosperity, and success.

Did you know? The microorganisms found in soil have been found to have a beneficial effect on one’s mental well-being. So grab a houseplant and get your hands dirty with nutrient rich soil!

Pothos varieties are easy-to-care for, climbing or vining plants that are excellent air purifiers. Their vines can reach up to 10 feet long indoors and up to 60 feet in their natural habitat! These plants like bright, indirect light, but can also thrive in medium light.
